Cecina is pretty little town in the popular Tuscany region of Italy. It was founded in the second half of nineteen century and is a well known seaside resort, with beautiful, wide pinewoods, a lovely harbour and an excellent water park.
The surrounding countryside is very lovely and home to many interesting archaeological remains. |

Cecina Valley – this extends between the coast where Cecina and other tourist resorts lie and the town of Volterra, perched on a rock spur 500 meters high. The Cecina Valley is still today among the most primitive areas in Tuscany. Discoveries have been made here of ancient road networks, ruined castles and discarded mines.
Archaelogical Sites - The area between the Cecina and Cornia River valleys and the Coast of the Etruscans up to the Grosseto Maremma is characterized by the widespread and diversified vast mineral resources. Visit the remains of Etruscan necropolises, ancient mining villages, mining complexes, and road networks designed to transport the minerals.
